Product Description
See pictures of our other 3 models below. Fan has a brushless mtr that last 10 times longer than any competitive motor. Special made for HHS with 5 year warranty w/ 2 years labor protection from LL Building Products in N.C. a divisIon of GAF. Made in U.S.A. The solar cells in 10 watt panel are thin layers of silicon. This panel has a latex bead protection to prevent water from getting into the panel and shorting out the life span. Sunlight strikes cells, chemical reactions release electrons, generating electric current. We tested two, 10 watt units on our Haynes Hunting building in 2006. Our attic was 94 degrees on an Alabama June morning even though our attic has plenty of blown-in insulation. We attached a 10 watt solar panel on east roof, then installed the attic fan in the gable area on one end of building. In 30 minutes attic temp was 7 degrees cooler. We attached another solar panel to the west end roof area and another fan in the opposite gable hole. In 30 minutes the attic was 17 degrees less! Our building is 1,400 sq. feet. We ran the fan wire outside gable hole to the solar panel. We tucked wire under roof shingles. This setup is perfect for portable buildings, barns, chicken house, green house or kennels. You must prevent house attic moisture all year long to prevent mildew rot. During hot summer months attic temp can exceed 160 Small, passive roof vents are woefully inadequate at dissipating heat. Attic's acts like a giant radiator, passing excess heat back into your living spaces. During cold winter months, heat trapped in attic can melt snow that accumulates on roof, water trickles down, refreezes at the cooler eaves, leading to destructive ice damming. Each year trapped moisture wreaks havoc in everyday activities such as showering, cooking. Water vapor migrates into attic. Over time moisture promotes mildew, saturates your insulation, leads to fungal spore destruction of roof decking.
