Amazon.com Product Description
Utilizing the latest LED technology, the Malibu outdoor light kit with four solar-powered one-light path lights and solar collection panel provides light to mark entrances, walkways and darkened areas at night. The fixture stays on up to 10 hours and features a frosted, impact-resistant globe for long-lasting durability. The sun charges the batteries by day and turns on automatically at night with no wiring or cost to operate. The remote solar panel provides more power than typical solar lights and can be conveniently placed anywhere. With an oiled, bronze metal finish and bright white LED bulb, the four-light kit adds beauty, security, and safety to your yard. The tulips measure 21 inches tall and 10-1/4 inches wide.

What's in the Box
Four solar-powered lights, two LED lights, three rechargeable batteries, a separate solar collection panel, and four 20-foot power cords.

About Malibu Solar Lights and Light Kits
Solar lighting is the safest and easiest kind of outdoor lighting to install. It provides sufficient light for entrances, walkways, steps, or to indicate the location of dark obstacles. This kit features a solar collector panel that converts sunlight into electrical energy. This energy is stored in rechargeable batteries that are used to illuminate the fixtures at night. Most solar products use LED (Light Emitting Diodes) as a light source because of their low power consumption and long life. LEDs are not replaceable, but their life expectancy typically exceeds 25 years, running 10 hours every night.

5 out of 5 stars Good Value   May 19, 2007

I wanted a way to put night lights in my basement but wanted free electric.
These not only do that but one is outside too. They didn't go cheap with the length of the cable. You can reach a long distance and the beauty is that the power unit is apart from the lights themselves so you can go indoor and outdoor. They are not really made for indoor but I just wanted something that was versitle and could fit my budget. So I have a unit that is indoors and outdoors all in one package.

I've had these lights now for about 3 months. They add much character to our walkway/garden. They hold a charge very well, (at least 8 to 10 hours), and setting the single solar panel is a plus as you only need to find "one" sunny spot, to charge all 4 lights, which assures that all the lights maintain the same level of brightness thru the night. "AA" rechargeable batteries means i can easily replace when needed. Great product!

4 out of 5 stars Easy installation; long-term durability TBD   July 2, 2006

These lights are easily installed. Multiple configurations are possible, as the lights can be plugged individually into the solar collector, daisy-chained, or any combination therof.

The solar collector seems to work well; it gathers a charge even on days that are somewhat overcast. The amount of light provided by each lamp is fairly low, but appropriate for my application (lighting down a stairway) as all I really want is a little light so people can see that the stairs are there, but not so much that it interferes with stargazing or draws attention to that area. The light is directed down.

The lights themselves are sturdy, but the wiring and connectors are small - appears more like wiring for an indoor application rather than outdoors. Time will tell whether they will survive the winter (or collect a charge at all) in our climate where we have a 100+ inches of rain between October and April.

**Update 9/30/2007**

The solar collector and lights are still working, but the connection between one of the cables and the solar collector unit has become loose. You have to jiggle it every few days to get it make contact (annoying when it's already dark). I had removed the solar collector and kept it indoors over the winter, but left the lights in place outdoors. Still OK with the purchase in general.

**Update 6/13/2008**
Connections are still loose, but it still works.

Good quality, best solar product I ever purchased, lighting not high intensity but serves it's purpose.

4 out of 5 stars Let them charge for a while for best results   October 11, 2007

I purchased 2 sets of these for $35 and am thrilled with the results. At first when I plugged them in, later that night, there was not hardly any light emmited from them, but I remembered from the other reviewer that you needed to let them charge longer, so I turned them off and let them have another 2 whole days in the sun before turning them on again at night, this time they had just the right amount of light, they look beautiful not cheapy looking at all, the color and quality of the rubbed oil finish is very nice. Another feature I really like is that since I purchased 2 sets I can link all 8 with just 1 solar panel. Overall this set exceeded my expectations.
