Beautiful lights June 22, 2007 L. Elliott (Tucson, AZ United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The lights are beautiful to watch at night as they change colors. They don't provide enough light to make a walk-way well lit, but that's not really their real function--they're to be seen. They cast colors on surroundings nicely, and they have a functional on/off switch so you can leave for a vacation and not waste the batteries.
SOLAR LIGHT November 9, 2008 Duane A. Glass Jr. (Ohio) Very colorful and fun product to have. As with all solar, the more direct sunlight the better. Works well.
very nice--but use caution when handling August 14, 2007 R. L. Maiden (California Delta) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have now purchased 6 sets of these, the first few of which I obtained last year. Last year's model had the solar panel/battery compartment sticking out to one side of the stem; this made for an unbalanced stem. People seemed to have the tendendency to grab at the light (as if it were a flower!), and quite often the stem would break at this structurally weak point (4/9 got broken, the first by yours truly while 'planting' it). However, the light continued to work--despite the broken stem, with the light itself hanging down! I was eventually able to mend the stems, using plumber's repair tape, albeit not very attractively. These lights are still functioning, and the lights themselves are very pretty, changing colors (red, blue, green) out in my (non-electrified) garden. They are not intended to provide light that enables one to see, but rather they provide a decorative effect--I often receive compliments on mine, and requests for where they can be purchased. This year, the design flaw seems to have been addressed by the manufacturer. The stem now emerges (top and bottom) from the center of the solar panel/sensor/battery compartment, creating a better-balanced light. These, like the original model, have replaceble 'AA' rechargeable batteries, as well as an Off-Auto switch (sensor-controlled, it comes on by itself when light levels are low enough, around dusk). Only time will tell if they are as long-lasting, but so far I like them quite a bit.

These are great lights. I have 2, and just ordered 4 more because I love them so much. Even my husband likes them - and it takes a LOT for him to notice anything in my garden. HOWEVER, you can find them cheaper elsewhere. I paid $8.95 for each one of mine, and they are the exact same item.
