The Lodge Mini Skillet December 2, 2007 Ms Dott 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I love miniature items...this skillet is perfect for spoon rest, wall decoration and perfectly fine for cooking. My grandchildren love the personal cornbread serving. perfect for their tiny hand...it's not quite as deep as a muffin tin. When the price is right, I intend to order 8 more for a cool dozen! Ms Dott
Great item! February 7, 2008 Michael J. Jones (Hewitt, TX USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought it for use in melting butter or margarine in the kitchen. It's perfect for that, but would also make a nice ash tray (ugh) or accent with other country kitchen decor items. Very nice.
It makes a great gag gift for a fisherman August 22, 2008 M. Konikoff (Lafayette, LA United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have seen this skillet presented to a fisherman at his retirement party. This is a guy who is known for frying up the small ones.
Five stars for cuteness! July 30, 2008 chickenbutt 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Now come on everybody! This is a MINIATURE skillet, as they advertise, so to say it is small (like that's a bad thing) doesn't make much sense. I'm glad to see that 2 out of 3 people here enjoy it for what it is. I didn't purchase it to cook meals in because I was well aware of its size going in. I love it just because... I give it five stars for two reasons - 1) It is cute as a bug; and 2) It's made by Lodge, so it is clearly great quality cast iron. Admittedly I have not actually 'used' it for anything, but then I had no aspirations of it serving any practical purpose. I like the melting butter idea that another reviewer mentioned. Thank You for that. I do have the little Lodge melting pot, but sometimes even that is bigger than what I need. This cute little skillet would be perfect for that also. Did I mention that it is cute? :)
Garlic Magic November 3, 2008 Richard S. Abbott (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This tiny skillet fits in the palm of your hand. I wasn't too sold on it until I found the ultimate use for it. Roasting garlic. You fill the tiny pan with peeled cloves of raw garlic, shoot in some olive oil and a pinch of salt, and put it on low heat. The garlic cooks in the tiny oil bath yielding awesome roasted garlic, as well as delicious garlicy olive oil. I'm buying these for stocking stuffers this year.
