Artful, Soothing and Educational With its illuminating shell and pretty, artful design, the Twilight Ladybug complements any nursery or child's room. Both plush and soft and built to last, this nightlight is best placed on the floor in the center of the room, where it projects a starry night sky onto the ceiling and walls. For interactive fun, parents can also sit with their children and identify and describe the features of seven major constellations, including the Big Dipper and Pegasus, with the help of the beautifully illustrated Star Guide. The Twilight Ladybug also includes a sweet and charming story about how Twilight Ladybug, separated from his father, uses the constellations to find his way home. User-Friendly Operation Simply pressing the button on the ladybug's wings ignites the stars and keeps them glowing for a full 45 minutes--just enough time for most children to drift into sleep. At this point, the Twilight Ladybug automatically shuts off to preserve battery life. Another push of the button reactivates the projection. In addition, the easy selection of the three soothing color choices allow your child not only to learn to identify different colors, but also to truly experience them as well. Ruby red offers a rich, warm feeling; sapphire blue is peaceful; and emerald green inspires feelings of harmony and renewal. The warm glow the Twilight Ladybug emits also serves as a nightlight that makes the darkness less frightening. Makes a Great Gift A great gift for children who are afraid of the dark, or even adults who have trouble falling asleep, the Twilight Ladybug runs on three "AAA" batteries (included). It also comes with a certificate of adoption, and measures a compact 14.0 x 5.0 inches (WxH), so it's easy to display and store. | Pressing the button on the ladybug's wings illuminates the stars and keeps them glowing for 45 minutes -- just enough time for drifting off to sleep -- before automatically shutting off to preserve battery life. The Twilight Ladybug offers a choice of three soothing colors in hues that are known for their ability to encourage relaxation: ruby red promotes warmth; sapphire blue for peace and sleep; and emerald green, known for harmony and renewal. Of the three, there is certain to be one that complements the color scheme of baby's room. From where she is stationed, the ladybug emits a warm glow in the color of choice, doubling as a comforting nightlight. | | The adorable ladybug comes with a story book and constellation guide. | In addition to its calming effect, Twilight Ladybug also features an educational component. Among the clusters of stars sprinkled across the ceiling are eight recognizable constellations. The accompanying guide tells the warm-hearted story about how Twilight Ladybug got separated from her father and used the constellations to find her way home, which is a sweet way to introduce the constellations and encourage kids to learn their locations. An included booklet maps out which area of Twilight Ladybug's shell the constellations are projected from, so stargazers will know where to look for them on the ceiling. The booklet also gives a brief explanation of each constellation and its most notable features. In the center of the sky is Orion the hunter, most easily recognizable by the three stars that make up his belt. At the 11:00 position, both Draco the dragon and The Little Dipper can be spotted. The Little Dipper is more visible because the North Star, Polaris, highlights the end of its handle. The North Star used to be positioned within Draco but movement in the skies shifted it over to The Little Dipper over time. In the upper right side of the sky (and the ladybug's wings), is Canis Major (The Greater Dog), which hosts the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, at a point in the dog's neck. Right next to Canis Major is Cepheus, a little house with a pointed roof. In the lower right quadrant of the sky, Pegasus -- the winged horse -- is visible. He is easiest to find by locating the square that makes up the center of his body first. On the south side of the sky (between 6 and 7:00), viewers can see two stick figure people. These are Gemini, the twins. And, finally, the best known constellation -- The Big Dipper -- can be found at 9:00. This is really two constellations in one as The Big Dipper makes up the tail end of the constellation Ursa Major, the Big Bear. A unique product, the Twilight Ladybug makes a thoughtful and creative baby gift to help infants or overtired moms grab a few hours of sleep. At only 14 inches long and 5 inches high, this interactive nightlight puts a lot of punch in a small package and is surprisingly easy to work. Each ladybug comes with its own certificate of adoption and runs on three AAA batteries, which are included.

Great nightlight March 20, 2006 D. Logan (Columbia, MD United States) 49 out of 51 found this review helpful
My husband and I actually bought the turtle for ourselves. It sits on a chair in our bedroom - we turn it on every night before bed. The turtle is very cute and has three color lights to choose from (blue, white and green). The stars are kinda blurry with the white light, but are clear with the green and the blue. The light is soft and lasts just long enough to get to sleep.
LOVE IT! Highly Recommended! February 8, 2006 Stargazin' new mommy (Ohio, USA) 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
I am an avid stargazer and have been looking for the perfect celestial touches for my soon-to-be-arriving baby's room. This is the most adorable and unique night light I have ever seen! It works beautifully - the star projections on the ceiling are great, and I am especially thrilled that they are actual constellations. To the reviewer who complained about the shell breaking and injuring her 18-month old, it says on the box that this is for ages 3 and up. It's not meant for babies to play with; it's more of a night light than a toy anyway. Overall I think it is a high quality, wonderful item and I would recommend it to anyone!
In defense of the Amber setting! May 8, 2007 New Mom (Seattle WA) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
We love this! I am considering getting a "back up." Our 4 month old baby was totally entranced by the stars! It is terrific! Such a cute little turtle too. The stars are very soothing. The blue is easiest to see at first, but after your eyes adjust to the darkness, the blue and green are too bright and the amber is the perfect "glow." I used it for late night nursing and it was the perfect amount of light. We have 10' ceilings and the stars show up extremely well. They are "five pointed" stars -- not various sized dots like I expected but still enchanting. Edit: now at 13 months, still used every night! A beloved toy for our now toddler and I love it to! If it seems dim, it just needs a new battery or time for my eyes to adjust.
Wonderful Night Light February 12, 2006 T. Mcdaris (Scottsdale, Arizona) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Wonderful item. My husband and I purchased the turtle to help our infant daughter fall asleep. Within minutes she would be off to dream land. Our 3yr old son also loves the turtle. He would sit in her room and gaze at the stars every night so we decided to purchase another one for his room. This is obviously not a toy use a dresser or shelf for best results.
A sweet product December 29, 2007 R. Stallings (Georgia) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I bought this product for my 7 month old daughter. My son (2) has the Twilight turtle. We have always liked the turtle, but there were some flaws. For example, the yellow did not show up on the ceiling/walls no matter where it is placed in the room, and there is no off button. So it goes through batteries because my son is constantly turning it on at all times of the day. With this being said my son will not go to sleep without the turtle. We even take it on vacations. As mentioned I bought the lady bug for my daughter. I had planned on buying her the turtle, but when I saw the bug I couldn't resist. Cloud B has made some modifications since the turtle and they are for the better. The on button is also an off button. They removed the yellow and replaced it with a red, which is to be used as a nightlight....it does not project the stars. So far I do not have any complaints.
